Hyundai Flagship Motorcar Complex

Opfer Logan Architects were commissioned by Arnold Clark Automobiles to design and oversee the construction of their new Hyundai Motorcar Complex in Dennistoun, Glasgow. This building is the UK’s largest Hyundai showroom and first of type using the manufacturer’s new international corporate identity.

The complex urban site required a unique layout and the building was designed to provide a display frontage to Alexandra Parade and also the M8 Motorway. The change in level across the site lead to a design solution which organised the building over three levels. Internally, the building is grouped around a central glazed triple volume Atrium space which offers views across from all levels.

The brief required the complex to have a full suite of management and staff offices, showroom display spaces, parts and service departments including valet and car wash facilities. The building has both passenger and vehicular lifts and customers are welcome to view cars on display over all three levels.
